Amit Technology Science & Medicine Ltd. has developed a device for hair loss prevention for patients receiving chemotherapy.
The device functions on the principle of scalp cooling using new technology, which causes contractions of the blood vessels. As a result of the contractions of the blood vessels, the quantity of chemotherapy material which reaches the hair follicles is reduced.
The scalp area reaches a temperature of 10o Celsius. As a result of this, there is a significant decrease in metabolic activity in the hair follicle area. This phenomenon prevents hair loss in patients receiving chemotherapy.
