Founded in 2001, Allium Ltd.,  is a privately owned company initiated and led by Professor (Em.) Daniel Yachia, an acknowledged urologist  and international authority on Urinary System Stenting. Allium has developed a multi-patented technology platform for creating site-specific stent solutions.

Since inception, Allium has focused primarily on researching, developing, and testing a variety of stents and stent delivery systems with applications in the urinary, gastro-intestinal and respiratory tract for use in malignant and benign obstructions. Some of Allium's projects are partly funded by the Office of the Chief Scientist at Israel's Ministry of Trade and Industry, which supports promising new technologies. Allium has already proven its proprietary technology by developing site-specific, large caliber, anatomically and functionally compatible and easily removable stents with applications in the urinary and gastro-intestinal tract, which have been subjected to rigorous laboratory and animal tests and clinical feasibility studies with successful outcomes
