Salio was founded in 2005 by experienced entrepreneurs and started its laboratory operations on June 2006 using its fully owned subsidiary Salio Nanotechnologies LTD.
Salio's technology is based on a seven years of basic research performed by Prof. Avigdor Schertz and Dr. Roie Yerushalmi from the WIS on Stimuli-Responsive Materials. Salio has exclusively licensed the technology and patents from Yeda, the technology transfer arm of the WIS, which is also a shareholder in the company.
